Fall in DC is tricky. It’s cold in the morning, warm throughout the day, and then chilly at night. So it’s hard to dress appropriately. But, I think I’ve figured it out….
The fur at the bottom of this blazer makes it a good choice.
I still have not jumped onto the boyfriend blazer trend. I really do want one, but with so many choices, I just haven’t found the right one. One thing I have learned about trends is not to spend too much on them, unless they’re timeless pieces. This Elizabeth and James Feather James Blazer isn’t your traditional boyfriend blazer, but I love it! Another thing I’ve learned about myself is that I love embellishment. So, not just any boyfriend blazer will do.
Parkas have replaced the puffers and this tailored fit Spiewak McElroy Parka is PUUUURRRfect-o! This parka is cool because it doubles as a toggle coat. This particular one might be more suitable for the winter months, however, because the lining is made of Thinsulate which is a very warm substitution to Down.
I actually bought this Topshop Faux Fur Gilet this past spring. It works for obvious reasons; it keeps you warm throughout the mid-section, but you can either wear long or short sleeves underneath or even a heavier leather jacket or hoodie. I wore it for the first time last weekend and got lots of compliments. It will be great for both day and night. I will try to get some picks next time I wear it.
