J. Crew Spring 2011 Collection is “Colorful”

The J. Crew creative team is mixing colors and textures in ways more fearless than ever for Spring 2011.  The collection plays on contrast: nude and bright, day with night, shabby with chic—combining chambray with lamé jacquard, sequins with cotton fleece, and a floor-length gowns with rugged military jackets. At a showing on Nov. 4, 2010 at Milk Studios, bright coral lipstick on both very dark and pale models set the tone. Marissa Webb, the brand’s new head of women’s design, has stated that the collection was inspired by German-born, American abstract expressionist painter, Hans Hoffman. See the rest of the collection here.
