Making History: Model Liya Kebede Partners with J. Crew

In good news of the day. Etheopian supermodel Liya Kebede  will be the first model to be featured exclusively, cover to cover, for the  J. Crew catalogue. What is more, the company will also carry pieces of Liya’s own line of hand-made children’s clothing collection known as Lemlem (means “to bloom”) , as part of their children’s Crewcuts line. All the pieces are made by hand in Ethiopia. -Source

It’s A Bad Day to be a JD

The folks over at Above the Law are reporting shocking numbers of lawyers who have been let go from their firms and entering first year associates who’s start dates have been postponed (all the way to 11/10) or who’s offers have been revoked! A variety of alternatives have been employed to retain summer programs, such as hiring fewer students and  shortening summer programs. However, some firms have cancelled their summer program entirely!

Sheesh! Thank God I don’t work for a firm. The future of in-house legal counsel is for now, uncertain; my job could be in peril. Note to self: Hope for the best. Plan for the worst. Rid thyself of those shopaholic ways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oprah has never had anyone else on the cover of her O. Magazine. Until now. The April cover will feature both Oprah herself and the First Lady, Michelle Obama. That’s such exciting, fabulous news!!!
